Hi, I am Ambika. I'm a product designer who bridges psychology and design to create intuitive experiences that solve real problems.
So how did I reach here?
My journey into UX began with a question that fascinated me during my Master's in Psychology: Why do humans, despite our similar anatomy, behave so differently?
Specializing in organizational and clinical psychology, I spent years researching human behavior, conducting studies, and analyzing patterns. But I craved more than understanding—I wanted to create tangible solutions that could immediately impact people's lives. Traditional psychological research felt slow; I wanted to hypothesize, design, test, and iterate quickly.
That's when I discovered UX design.
UX became the perfect intersection of my psychological training and my desire to build. Suddenly, I could apply cognitive principles to interface design, test behavioral hypotheses through prototypes, and see real results in weeks instead of years. My background in cognitive and organizational psychology gives me a unique lens.
Currently I've been designing for accounting software, where I've shipped 6+ features and learned that even complex domains like bookkeeping can be approachable when you truly understand your users. Working alongside amazing designers, I've discovered that accountants and their clients might not always have the same way to approach their business.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me watching documentaries, exploring Netherlands by bike, reading non fiction or trying a new hobby, currently crocheting.
